SUMMARY

This position is accountable for activities related to the electrical and mechanical maintenance of the generating equipment auxiliary equipment and facility equipment. This position reports to a site Production Manager or to the Manager of Outage Planning and Major Maintenance. Work includes direct supervision of planners maintenance supervisors and the direct/indirect supervision of a bargaining unit work force contractor personnel consultants technical advisors and others as deemed appropriate.
Positions allocated to this class report to a designated supervisor and work under general supervision. Work in this class is distinguished by its advanced leadership responsibility of generation assets.
This position provides leadership in scope determination planning scheduling and of maintenance for electric generating and water process facilities at any of the generating sites. This position may be assigned to a site(s) or be assigned across Energy Supply designated for Major Maintenance and Outage Planning.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
May provide direct supervision mentoring and training of Craft Trade Supervisors and Maintenance Planners or provides direct supervision for craft trade personnel. Sets and enforces goals and objectives for these assigned community builders.
Directs and supervises the process required for work identification prioritization organization and documentation of plant maintenance activities completed.
Responsible for planned maintenance work order system including content frequency and technique.
Oversees the development and implementation of maintenance planning scheduling and work order control programs and procedures.
Responsible for assignment and oversight of safety personnel and tracking of related issues. This includes the capturing of lessons learned to improve safety awareness and mitigate reoccurrence.
Provides oversight in the implementation and tracking of work order system including work identification prioritization planning scheduling and tracking and required documentation for closeout.
Provides communication and direction to warehouse operations. These tasks include but is not limited to procurement and receiving of parts staging of parts for outage and daytoday work and maintaining appropriate inventory to support planned work completion of add to inventory forms and to support warehouse personnel in the identification of parts for documentation purposes.
Oversees the development implementation auditing and documentation of the Reliability Centered Maintenance Program (RCM).
Oversees the development implementation auditing and documentation of Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Programs.
Coordinates the administration and provides oversight for the development and maintenance of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software program.
Works with the Investment Recovery group that is responsible for overseeing the recovering of the highest value of discarded assets no longer needed by Energy Supply and returning the money received back to the applicable capital projects.
Assures conformance with administrative policies and procedures within an assigned operating and maintenance division.
Coordinates the implementation of plant maintenance policies and procedures.
Assists in the development and implementation of maintenance planning scheduling and work order control programs and procedures.
Develops advanced skills training and industrial safety training programs for power production personnel and assures effective program implementation and administration.
Develops and directs the activities of craft planning personnel including training and maintenance of proficiency.
Evaluates and recommends use of contractual services when cost effective to accomplish assigned maintenance tasks and establishes and administers various contracts required to maintain asset reliability.
Prepares and maintains records and reports on plant maintenance including Productivity and Repeat Work Metrics.
Attends work on continuous and regular basis.
Plant Based Maintenance Leader:
Oversees the daytoday maintenance as well as the work planning functions of site Energy Supply generating units and water treatment assets. This and all the other followon Essential Job Functions are applicable to all Energy Supply facilities across GRU.
Achieves established goals for Safety Environmental Schedule Cost Quality and Regulatory Compliance for the plant(s).
Plans organizes schedules and directs activities of an assigned maintenance personnel.
Provides direct oversight of safety planning for site maintenance activities which includes safety risk analysis prejob task list development of job hazard analysis and coordination of safety procedures for both internal facilities and external contractors.
Oversees and coordinates contract work related to maintenance as needed.
Provides required input in the preparation and determination of site annual operating and maintenance and capital budgets and administers daily budget activities and expenditures including the manageable risk assessment required when budget growth is not an option when unanticipated scope is discovered.
Directly responsible for the selection hiring promotion discharge and other appropriate personnel actions in the Plant Maintenance team.
Major Maintenance Leader:
Achieves established goals for Safety Environmental Schedule Cost Quality and Regulatory Compliance for each planned outage.
Plans organizes schedules and directs activities of an assigned maintenance division across the GRU Energy Supply fleet of assets.
Directs development and implementation of all activities related to outage planning which includes: scope development scheduling staffing cost and duration estimation job planning packages and outage of all associated activities.
Responsible for the duties and responsibilities of Outage Manager for every outage which includes: budget determination budget management schedule control outage of all associated activities risk management and communication with all stakeholders. This includes coordinating with engineers planners craft and supervisors other departments within GRU purchasing finance l contractors vendors Directors and Production Leadership.
Provides direct oversight in the development implementation and reinforcement of safety planning for outage and major maintenance activities which includes preoutage safety risk analysis prejob task list development of job hazard analysis and coordination of safety procedures for both internal facilities and external contractors.
Oversees and coordinates contract work related to major maintenance and outage assigned task including unplanned forced outages.
Provides required input in the preparation and determination of MMG annual operating and maintenance and capital budgets and administers daily budget activities and expenditures including the manageable risk assessment required when budget growth is not an option when unanticipated scope is discovered.
Directly responsible for the selection hiring promotion discharge and other appropriate personnel actions in the Major Maintenance Group Planning Mechanical and ICE areas.
NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Administers terms and conditions of labor agreements for bargaining unit personnel within assigned areas of plant responsibility and recommends modifications to existing agreements for future negotiation.
Acts in the absence of the supervisor.
Responsible for enforcing the DrugFree Workplace Program based on physical location and organizational structure.
Responds under emergency conditions at all the GRU Energy Supply Facilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education experience knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and seven 7 years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance of high pressure steam electric generating plants and combustion turbines including two 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity.
Or an Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or other technical areas or a related vocational degree and five 5 years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance of high pressure steam electric generating plants and combustion turbines including two 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity
Or a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or other technical areas and four 4 years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance of high pressure steam electric generating plants and combustion turbines including two 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Licenses
Valid Florida Driver License required within thirty 30 days of appointment and at all times while employed in this classification.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work requires physical strength abilities and agilities sufficient to safely perform all essential functions including the ability to bend squat walk lift kneel push pull and stoop
Work requires normal color vision to distinguish the color and severity of many control and safety devices.
Ability to use personal protection equipment including hearing protection eye protection foot protection hand protection and head protection.
This position requires the ability to use respiratory protection equipment including selfcontained breathing units in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Must be able to pass a certified lung function test due to use of respiratory protection equipment.
Ability to drive city vehicles.
Ability to climb ladders or ride elevators to perform tasks often on open grating with handrails at elevated levels up to 165 feet.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to abate high noise levels.

Ability to perform tasks in extreme heat; and entering and maneuvering within confined spaces.
Work may require performance of tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions.
