About the role:
As a core contributor to our engineering team your goal is to improve system performance to give customers better data more quickly easily and cheaply. You will work on a team to design and conduct experiments and simulations into customerfacing features that deliver tangible value. By partnering with our product team you will use the data from your experiments to recommend design or operational improvements to hardware and software features and systems.
Engineering at Lumafield works in and between multiple disciplines. Lumafields product is a complex hardwaresoftware system. Systemsthinking and the ability to evaluate a problem and the possible solutions from multiple perspectives is essential.
What youll do:
- Work on the core technology enabling Lumafield to deliver its novel CT scanners
- Design execute and refine experiments and simulations to validate new concepts and improve current and future products
- Analyze test data to characterize performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks
- Build working prototypes and products for new hardware and software features that make a difference for engineering teams
- Convert scientific understanding into shipping features for customers
About you:
- Have an engineering or physics degree
- Exhibit insatiable curiosity for how things work
- Have a passion for solving technical puzzles; able to troubleshoot and get to the bottom of complex issues in hardware software and sometimes a stubborn mix of both
- Motivated by moving fast shipping and getting feedback
- Can quickly learn and apply information in a new field of study
- Are organized and document your work clearly
- Strong team collaboration communication and interpersonal skills
- Can handle large data sets with scientific computing in Python MATLAB C etc.
Bonus points for:
- A portfolio blog or github we can review
- Have conducted research either experimental modeling/simulation or both
- Experience with image processing signal processing or frequencydomain analysis
- Prior startup experience
This role will be located in Lumafields Boston office. You may be required to travel occasionally to Lumafields San Francisco office depending on local state and federal regulations and recommendations pertaining to COVID19.
