SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisors primary purpose is to oversee the manufacturing process and ensure that production targets are met efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for managing a team of production workers coordinating workflow and implementing safety and quality control measures to guarantee the safe timely delivery of highquality products to customers. By providing leadership guidance and support to your team you will manage the reciprocal relationship between staff and the organization; and communicate needs. This is a vital role in achieving operational excellence and driving continuous improvement within the production department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and motivate a team of production workers including training scheduling and performance management to ensure a productive and cohesive work environment.
- Coordinate production schedules prioritize orders and allocate resources to meet production targets while minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
- Work with QC Quality Control to implement quality control measures and procedures to ensure that products meet specifications and adhere to quality standards conducting inspections and addressing any quality issues promptly.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment conducting regular safety inspections and promoting a culture of safety awareness among staff.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization cost reduction and productivity enhancement implementing continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Monitor inventory levels track raw materials and finished goods and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure adequate stock levels and timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Maintenance any maintenance activities for production equipment and machinery scheduling preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate production records including production reports quality control documentation and inventory records and prepare regular reports on production performance and key metrics.
- Lead Daily Standup and Gemba Meetings (Level I & Level II) and report at Weekly Reviews (Level III).
- Collaborate with other departments such as engineering procurement and quality assurance to resolve issues address production challenges and support companywide initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements industry standards and company policies related to production processes OSHA/safety and quality.
- Champion the company vision mission initiatives and culture.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in engineering manufacturing or related field preferred.
- Proven experience 5 years) in a manufacturing or production environment with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes equipment and quality control principles.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team.
- Solid problemsolving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with OSHA/safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing software (e.g. ERP systems).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing production schedules as needed.
