  1. JOB PURPOSE

(Provide an overview of the job its context in the organization and the contribution that it makes)

This position will monitor the construction of buildings and other structures ensuring their safety and durability. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and strength of the structures. The projects to focus on include roads tunnels bridges buildings towers etc.

Overall structural engineers job responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Building structures based on technical specifications
  • Tracking project progress and reporting on results
  • Choosing appropriate materials to ensure durability

Structural reviews are important to ensure structural safety. Any structural failure should be avoided.

Some of the projects that this position will currently need to handle include:

  • Metro stations
  • T1 refurbishment
  • T1 Retail developments
  • West cross field taxiway
  • Building rehabilitations
  • MMTH modifications
  • Retail designs for MMTH
  • Terminal 2 Phase 2

  1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Optimal designs which are cost effective
  • Required Safety aspects are covered
  • Designs are construction friendly

  • Review of structural documents and comments
  • Working with consultants to set best design guidelines
  • Working with contractors to derive optimal design solutions
  • Use of computeraided design software analyzing loads and pressures collaborating with contractors and monitoring onsite construction.
  • Preparing reports designs and drawings
  • Selecting appropriate construction materials
  • Providing technical advice
  • Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval
  • Collaborate with relevant professional staff
  • Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
  • Administering contracts
  • Managing projects
  • Inspecting properties to check conditions/foundations.

BE/ME/Mtech in Civil/Structural engineering

  1. Years of Experience (Years of relevant experience required)

Minimum 10 to 15 years in structural design and engineering with relevant experience in RCC & steel buildings.

5.3. Computer skills(Indicate the required knowledge on software applications hard ware etc. that are required)

Handson expertise on Software Staad/ Etabs/ Safe along with Excel for development of spread sheets

5.4. Knowledge and work skillsIndicate what knowledge (machines equipment processes systems etc. and work skills are required

  • Structural analytical /modelling skill set along with design skills for design of RCC/Steel/PSC/composite structures.
  • Must have designed large buildings like airport infrastructure should be aware of multiple structural systems for foundations super structure.
  • MS Office O365
  • Expertise and attention to detail will be instrumental in delivering highquality and structurally sound buildings.
  • Datadriven mindset with excellent mathematical skills
  • Good communication ability (both written and verbal)
  • Collaboration and team work
