As a Preschool Teacher you will play a critical role in fostering the social emotional cognitive and physical development of young children in a safe and supportive environment. You will create engaging learning experiences promote positive behavior and collaborate with families and colleagues to support each childs growth and Responsibilities:Promote the importance of inclusive and effective early childhood a safe welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and equitable access to opportunities supports and and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that recognizes the interests strengths and areas for growth of all children by utilizing The Creative Curriculum Guided Edition to develop and guide learning for all daily activities model play and socialemotional skills for all students support and/or facilitate childrens play throughout the preschool upon evidence and research for practices that are responsive and appropriate to the childs culture language(s) abilities developmental level identities and and assess each childs development progress and learning individualized support to children based on their developmental stages and unique and maintain positive relationships with children parents and staff to create a supportive learning children in developing social skills emotional regulation and problemsolving abilities accordance with school policies manage classroom behavior in a positive and constructive accurate records on each childs progress including anecdotal notes assessments and regularly with parents about their childs development and classroom activities through meetings emails and the classroom and surrounding areas are kept clean organized and in schoolbased meetings and training as well as professional development through Caledonia Central Supervisory all CenterBased Child Care and Preschool Licensing and Vermont Agency of Education regulatory :Minimum of a Bachelor degree Applicants must have or be eligible for a Vermont teachers license with Early Childhood or Early Childhood Special Education endorsement and maintain throughout working with young children in a preschool or child care setting is a communication organizational and timemanagement skills.A passion for early childhood education and a deep commitment to fostering a love of learning in young to work effectively both independently and as part of a be CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification).Background check and references RequirementsWork environment is in a mixed environment with moderate noise temperatures that are controlled and no exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality work is light/moderate work requiring exertion of up to 30 pounds of force to move or lift following physical and mental abilities are representative of those expected to complete the essential functions of the job:Standing for prolonged periodsSitting for prolonged periodsRepetitive motions with the hands wrists or fingersRepetitive motions with force on the back or lower bodyAbility to feel grasp or hold objects by handDiscernment of colors visuallyDiscernment of letters or numbersDiscernment of objects under low light or distant conditionsUnderstanding and communicating in spoken languageUnderstanding and communicating in written languagePerception of soundsMaking decisions using logic and rational thinkingTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.
