You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOur client is seeking a Painter to work in their growing manufacturing facility modifying repurposed shipping containers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces by sing using commercial paint removers and filling cracks and holes
Erect scaffolds ladders and safety barriers in accordance with local mechanical safe work procedures
Place drop cloths to protect equipment and cover floors
Monitor machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards making adjustments as necessary
Disassemble clean and reassemble sprayers and power equipment using solvents wire brushes and cloths for cleaning duties
Perform interior and exterior painting including finishing where required
Review shop drawings
Maintain shop equipment
Follow the clients policies and procedures health and safety standards and comply with appropriate building codes
Attend safety classes
Charge to correct projects
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
13 years of experience
Skilled craftsman capable of performing quality finish work
Ability to read shop drawings
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
Safetyconscious mindset
Willingness to learn and adapt
Flexible friendly able to collaborate with and coach others and work on a team
Physical Requirements:
Good eyesight to be aware of hazards and dangers
Ability to wear a respirator
Hearing and speaking ability to exchange information
Dexterity of hands to perform tasks required for the position
Proficiency in reading and writing English to review project plans
Comfortable with climbing ladders and working at various heights
Ability to traverse the production facility
Capable of working outside in extreme weather conditions
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
