POSITION SUMMARY
The Installation Technician will be an integral part of our retail store service team and are responsible for the installation maintenance and troubleshooting of various aftermarket components on various vehicles. This role is designed for those who are passionate about automotive work and will require a combination of technical skills customer service abilities and adherence to safety standards to ensure that installations meet both performance and regulatory requirements.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Installation of Aftermarket Parts:
- Install a variety of aftermarket automotive parts including but not limited to lift kits/suspensions wheels / tires running boards bed covers bed liners lighting systems and performance enhancements.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards to ensure proper installation/fitment.
- Adhere to RealTrucks standards.
Vehicle Inspections Quality Control and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct thorough inspections of completed installations to ensure quality and functionality before returning vehicles to customers.
- Diagnose and resolve any issues related to the installation of parts utilizing both technical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
- Navigate computer systems for alignment machines and recording work order information.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with service manager and customers to understand their needs and preferences.
- Provide professional advice on product selection and installation options when necessary.
- Provide training on products as needed to ensure customers understand functionality and uses products in a safe manner.
Process Optimization
- Identify bottlenecks in the installation process and propose solutions to improve workflow.
- Work with the General Manager and retail store team to streamline work processes and reduce turnaround times and errors.
- Share best practices and refine methods.
- Provide feedback on new parts and equipment to help improve product offerings.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during installations.
- Ensure all installations comply with local state and federal regulations.
- Remove all fluids lubricants and components as required in a safe and efficient manner where applicable.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of installations including parts used and work completed.
- Report any issues delays or additional requirements to the leadership team.
- Manage inventory and tooling requirements
- Partner with GM to create Installation Operations Manual
Equipment Maintenance:
- Regularly inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
- Notify management of any repairs or replacements needed for equipment.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in/facilitate training sessions and stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and products.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in automotive or related fields preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive installations/restoration or related field required.
- ASE Certified required.
Required Licenses
Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
Skills Abilities and Knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during installations or repairs.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and address their concerns effectively.
Travel

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead: working team member who coordinates supports trains and is a knowledge resource for other team members. No direct reports or supervisory responsibility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity
The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment as well as install small and/or large accessories to vehicles.

The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions including heat cold noise vibration and hazards from a vehicle mechaniclike environment.
