The Department

Alfred Hospitals Radiology Department is one of Melbournes leading tertiary teaching and trauma hospitals.

Alfred Radiology Department values education and professional development and utilises modern technologies across all modalities to image challenging patients.

The Role

The Grade 4 General Lead Radiographer is a leadership role working with General Supervisors CT Supervisors and MRI Supervisors and at the direction of the Chief Radiographer. The successful candidate will be predominantly stationed in Generals/Theatre with the occasional rotation through ED lead Private Radiology lead and Main department General Supervisor roles. There is a requirement to be able participate in afterhours shift and on call services when required due to the Departments 24hour operation.

Your role would be to provide supervision and leadership across the General services by:

  • Facilitating daily operations
  • Providing training feedback and support to staff
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully
  • Promoting a culture of safety
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participating in quality improvement and change projects
  • Participatingin clinical work to provide the best possible radiographic examinations ensuring patient comfort welfare and safety in accordance with departmental protocols ethics and code of conduct
  • Other duties as required by theChief Radiographer

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations or equivalent
  • Eligibility for A.S.M.I.R.T. Statement of Compliance
  • National Registration with AHPRA to practice as a Medical Imaging Technologist
  • Victorian Department of Health Use Licence
  • Evidence of CPD in line with registration requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team worker
