Job Summary
The University Campus Store is seeking a parttime Cash Room Associate who is responsible for managing the financial transactions and processes within the cash room of the University of Utah Campus Store. This position ensures the accurate and efficient handling of cash checks and credit card transactions as well as maintaining the security and confidentiality of financial information. The Cash Room Associate works closely with the store management team to ensure the daily financial operations run smoothly. Responsibilities
Cash Handling: Accurately count balance and reconcile cash drawers from multiple registers at the end of each shift. Deposits: Prepare daily bank deposits and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled. Reporting: Generate and maintain accurate financial reports and logs including discrepancies overages and shortages. Security: Ensure the security of the cash room by following strict protocols for cash handling storage and transportation. Compliance: Adhere to all University policies and procedures related to financial transactions and reporting. Support: Provide support to other store departments as needed particularly during peak periods such as the start of the semester or special events. Customer Service: Handle inquiries related to financial transactions in a professional and courteous manner. Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience performing accounting functions and preparing related reports or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); the ability to use standard office machines calculators and data input terminals; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
