JOB TITLE:
Assistant Professor
JOB PURPOSE:
The Department of Geology & Geophysics at the University of Wyoming welcomes applications for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor of Crustal seek applicants who complement existing research strengths within the department and across the University. Research focus is open including but not limited to lithospheric deformation basin analysis Earth surface processes geodynamics and the interplay ofcrustal processes with the biosphere or atmosphere. We particularly encourage applicants who addressquestions from the grain scale to the global scale and who integrate field theoretical experimental and/or computer modeling/computational/data science approaches. This position offers the possibility of a joint appointment in the School of Computing for candidates with demonstrated expertise and interest in interdisciplinary computing applications and research however this is not a requirement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be expected to build a vibrant extramurally funded research program in the broadly defined area of crustal processes contribute to the teaching mission of the department and participate in service.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a PhD degree in Geology Earth Sciences Geosciences or related fields at time of appointment and evidence of past research and/or teaching experience is required.
