Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ensuring accurate processing and transmission of imaging data to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ensuring accurate processing and transmission of imaging data to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform highquality ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and physician orders
- Capture and transmit diagnostic images to the PACS in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure proper patient identification positioning and preparation for each examination
- Communicate effectively with patients family members and healthcare staff to provide compassionate and safe care
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and report any malfunctions or concerns
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Adhere to departmental and hospital safety policies infection control procedures and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- Certification:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or
- Sonography certification through ARRT (S)

- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or current certification as listed above

- Experience:
- Previous experience in a Labor & Delivery setting is required

- Licensure:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained

- Skills:
- Proficient in the use of computer systems and imaging software
