We are seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Medical Assistant specializing in Neurology to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to neurologists and other healthcare professionals ensuring efficient patient care and office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms ensuring they are clean and equipped for patient visits.
- Assist with patient examinations procedures and followup care in neurology.
- Obtain and document patient medical histories vital signs and necessary information in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Perform patient education regarding neurological conditions treatment plans and medication management.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments tests and procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborate with the medical team to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless communication.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones managing correspondence and filing patient records.
- Assist with billing and insurance verification processes as required.
- Maintain medical inventory and order supplies as needed to support clinical operations.
- Stay informed about neurological conditions and treatments maintaining knowledge relevant to the position.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification and/or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is a plus.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highquality patient care.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in a neurology or similar healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with neurological procedures and terminology is highly advantageous.
- Experience in a patientfocused environment with a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
