Job Description

Position Details:
Hours of Work:Monday to Friday 8:30 AM 5:00 PM 40 hours per week)
Compensation:$29.80 31.75/hr) for the contract
Work Type:Hybrid
Primary Accountabilities
- Performing monthend close procedures including preparing journal entries monthly bank reconciliations vendor accounts reconciliations and intercompany transactions for the corporate head office.
- Record and process accounts payable and receivable transactions ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Manage general ledger entries and reconciliations including intercompany bank and Visa card reconciliations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and controls.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Assist with tax filing and prepare necessary documentation for compliance.
- Provide support to manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings and other accounting projects.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Assist of other ad hoc reports as needed.
Requirements
Skills & Abilities
- Expertise in financial reporting and compliance with GAAP.
- Proficient in accounting software (Sage 300 and advanced Excel for financial analysis.
- Strong skills in budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.
- Knowledgeable in tax regulations and experienced in tax preparation.
- Skilled in data analysis to identify trends and provide insights for decisionmaking.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.
- Professional certification such as CPA designation required or working towards completion.
- Proficient in accounting software (Sage 300 and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience as a corporate accountant or in a similar role with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various departments.
