About the Position

A Medical Scribe will be hardworking detailoriented and a quick learner who is interested in providing high quality care.

Pay Range: $12.50 per hour and up depending on experience

Location: Remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Transcribe the patients visits into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system including but not limited to their medical history physical exam and accurately document the physicians encounter with the patient
• Review medical documentation to check for inconsistencies or mistakes and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors
• List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
• Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests radiology tests medications etc.
• Document any procedures performed by the physician
• Provide patient comfort measures as requested and permitted
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong knowledge and understanding of medical terminology anatomy and physiology diagnostic procedures pharmacology and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports and translate medical abbreviations into their expanded forms
• Excellent typing skills preferably able to type minimum of 60 words per minute
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Good attendance/punctuality
• Able to learn quickly and retain information
• Proficient using multiple software applications and Electronic Medical Record system
• Must be located in Clark County Nevada

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC
• Previous medical scribe experience
• Bilingual in English/ Spanish
• Pre Med or Pre PA Student who can make a 1 year commitment

Physical Demands

Physical requirements may vary slightly and should be reviewed with your manger. In general this position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted; ability to stand for extended periods of time and to perform repetitive stooping walking stretching reaching and some sitting; ability to use full range of body motions required to lift patients wear a lead apron and lift and move supplies.

Work Environment

Job required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood body fluids tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate personal protection measures is required for every healthcare provider in these positions. Require to routinely use standard office equipment such as laptop computer mouse and photocopier.
