Job Description


Job Description

1. Adjust and align tools and modify systems on preset equipment according to machiningspecifications
2. Set and change specialty and standard tools in machining centers (i.e. MAPAL PaddedReamers from single diameter to multidiameter and standard tooling systems)
3. Assemble and reassemble new tools reworked tools and prototype tools for tool criboperations
4. Access tooling rework capability based on tooling attributes and machining requirements
5. Verify quality of tooling by inspecting comparing them to templates measuring theirdimensions or testing them
6. Develop and recommend best practices and methods for improving accuracy efficiencyand speed of tooling machining and inventory control systems processes and procedures
7. Perform root cause analysis of inventory (supplies and tooling) inaccuracies and followstandard practices and guidelines for issue resolution
8. Define map and maintain inventory control procedures per ISO 9000 standards using tool management software

9. Assist MTU in analyzing tool consumption performing tests on potential new tools andcreating detailed management reports
10. Assist in the sale of s tooling that has a potential market value
11. Provide training on tool setting demonstrate equipment operations and work and safetyprocedures to new and existing employees
12. Advise operators of operation procedures and requirements for working safely withtooling equipment and components
13. Keep Team Leader abreast of progress developments and pending problems
14. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
15. Identify and reduce nonvalueadded work
16. Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility byproviding support in assembly and other production related areas

17. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit ofthe RollsRoyce Code of Conduct.

18. In order to be considerate for this role you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma/GED and completion of apprenticeship or training program or 3 years previous experience in mechanical electrical or industrial tooling management in a
heavyduty machining environment
2. Basic knowledge in a variety of machines and tools such as power construction equipmentmeasuring devices power tools taps or dies and hoists; including their designs usesrepair and maintenance
3. Basic knowledge of inventory control systems manufacturing and production processesraw materials quality control costs and other techniques for maximizing the effectivemanufacture of goods
4. Intermediate mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical electricalpneumatic hydraulic carpentry lubrications and repair of production machines
5. Basic ability to interpret blueprints schematic drawings layouts or other visual aids
6. Basic problemsolving skills and the analytical ability to complete very complex problems
7. Basic knowledge and experience with Siemens 840D CNC machine tool control ModiconAllen Bradley RS Logic 500 & 5000 and CNC programming applications
8. Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with lawsregulations or standards
9. Intermediate knowledge in skills such as welding pipe fitting lubrications hydraulicspneumatics electrical carpentry and use of tool room machines
10. Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers and othertradesmen
11. Basic organizational planning and followup skills

12. Basic oral and written communication skills
13. Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
14. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred:
1. Associate degree in mechanical Electrical or Industrial Maintenance
2. Knowledge of heavyduty diesel engine manufacturing
3. Ability to obtain appropriate hoists and power vehicle licenses (Flatbed HiLo & Mule)when necessary
4. Knowledge of MTU products policies and procedures

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk and stand; sit use hands or fingers handle or feel objects tools parts or controls reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision and depth perception. The employee may also be exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
