DualImmersion Instructional Manager (Bilingual Sp/Eng) Certificated

Overview

Though 9 in 10 Latino young adults say that a college degree is important for success in life fewer than 15 age 25 or older hold a bachelors degree. Voices CollegeBound Language Academies exists to change that.

Voices is a public charter school network with a mission to prepare all students for the challenges of higher education through the context of an academically rigorous duallanguage program. Every student regardless of home language graduates bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.

Role Summary

The DualImmersion Instructional Manager is responsible for supporting and enhancing Tier 1 instruction and language acquisition in both English and Spanish across duallanguage programs. This position focuses on providing instructional leadership professional development and coaching to ensure highquality bilingual education that fosters academic acceleration and biliteracy for all students. Additionally the role includes interpreting and operationalizing Californias legal requirements for serving multilingual learners including reclassification integrated and designated English Language Development (ELD) and EL/RFEP progress monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership & Support

  • Collaborate with school instructional coaches to provide jobembedded coaching and professional development to dua immersion teachers and associate teachers.
  • Support teachers in implementing best practices for tiered instruction in both English and Spanish ensuring highquality biliteracy instruction.
  • Model coteach and observe lessons to improve instructional strategies aligned with dual language immersion frameworks.
  • Ensure curriculum fidelity and effective instructional delivery in both program languages.
  • Provide guidance on lesson planning instructional strategies and student engagement techniques that promote biliteracy and bilingualism.
  • Support the integration of family and community into the dual language instructional programs.


Professional Development & Coaching

  • Work closely with instructional coaches and administrators to design and facilitate professional learning sessions on dual language instruction language acquisition and culturally responsive teaching.
  • Offer ongoing instructional coaching and feedback to enhance teacher effectiveness in both English and Spanish.
  • Support educators in developing assessment literacy to monitor language acquisition and academic progress in both languages.

Program Development & Compliance

  • Interpret and operationalize California legal requirements for serving multilingual learners including:
    • Reclassification processes for English Learners (ELs)
    • Integrated and Designated ELD implementation within the dual immersion framework
    • Monitoring progress of English Learners (ELs) and Reclassified Fluent English Proficient (RFEP) students
  • Support school sites in implementing datadriven decisionmaking to track language acquisition and reclassification progress.
  • Assist in the development alignment and refinement of dual immersion curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Ensure that instructional practices align with researchbased models for bilingual education.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with school instructional coaches administrators and support staff to ensure a strong and cohesive dualimmersion instructional model.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to educators on compliance and best practices for multilingual learners.
  • Engage families and community members in understanding and supporting dual language learning including reclassification processes and language development.
  • Serve as a resource for school and district leaders in addressing challenges related to bilingual instruction ELD implementation and student language development.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Support school administration as needed
  • Ensure relevant compliance elements are completed in a timely manner etc.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Education Bilingual Education TESOL or a related field (preferred).
  • Valid teaching credential with a bilingual authorization or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience teaching in a dual immersion or bilingual education setting.
  • Experience in instructional coaching curriculum development or professional learning facilitation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with high proficiency in reading writing speaking and instructional delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience working with lowincome communities preferred
  • Can work independently have flexibility and demonstrated success in building a dualimmersion curriculum
  • Understanding of dual immersion instructional practices and school design and the unique characteristics of public charter schools is a plus
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Word and Google Apps
  • Experience providing professional development for educators in bilingual settings.
  • Familiarity with dual language program models (e.g. 90/10 50/50 and their instructional implications.
  • Knowledge of state and national standards for bilingual education and language development.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Californias legal and policy framework for serving multilingual learners including reclassification ELD requirements and progress monitoring for ELs and RFEP students.
  • Deep knowledge of language acquisition theories bilingual education models and best practices for dual language instruction and learning acceleration.
  • Expertise in Tier 1 instructional strategies differentiation and scaffolding techniques for bilingual learners.
  • Ability to analyze and utilize data to drive instructional decisions and student achievement.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively coach educators and support program implementation.
  • Commitment to equity inclusion and cultural responsiveness in education.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular requirement to stand sit walk talk hear see read speak reach stretch with hands and arms stoop kneel and crouch
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional evening and or weekend work
  • Occasional travel
  • Willingness to be trained as needed

Prior To Employment: Once an offer has been extended a candidate must meet the following criteria to receive a final agreement:

  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
  • Employment Eligibility
  • Cleared Criminal Background Check
  • Valid TB Clearance
