Our Electrical and Instrumentation Technician Senior located at the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City IA. will be responsible for maintenance and installation of inplant and/or satellite plant equipment. The work includes the proper maintenance and operation of complex electrical systems computers controls systems and equipment that can directly affect the safety and operation of the plant
No two days are the same in this role. The only thing that is assured is that we are going to start the day focused on safety. We will be lining out the days work and planning safety procedures as required by OSHA and company policy. We will also ensure that we have the materials and support to complete the scheduled tasks safely and efficiently. Skills like reading diagrams and schematics and drawings of utility systems are used daily. We also troubleshoot and install Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) bothphysically and through software and firmware configurations. You will also recommend updates and system improvements for a variety of internal groups.
The daily work will consists of a variety of new installations and upgrades to unscheduled maintenance that will challenge your troubleshooting skills. This position requires multiple daily commitments. The first is to safety the second is to learning and adapting to new systems software and maintaining your expertise in your craft.
This employee is required to be oncall on a scheduled basis and must be able to respond on location within one 1 hour of notification
This role requires the ability to work in confined spaces in the plants. You must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces shafts small enclosed areas pipes and the like)

Salary Range: $$32.78 $48.76 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography experience industry knowledge education internal pay alignment or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan and emergency or oncall pay.
