Field Technician
Position Summary:

Alamon Inc. seeks a Field Technician for its Enterprise Technical Solutions department.
This position entails: Providing service and support during field visits. Manage all onsite installation repair maintenance and test tasks. Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. The Field Technician will be a self starter who can deliver excellent customer service.

Job Description::
- Perform structural/lowvoltage cable installation terminations maintenance and repair works.
- Possess extensive knowledge in all types of lowvoltage cabling scenarios including Cat5e Cat6 and fiber termination activities cable test equipment and use of all types of cable installation codes and standards.
- Familiar with and/or certified in BICSI standards.
- Proven experience in leading cabling crews on large cabling projects.
- Read and understand construction prints and splice schematics.
- Experience with and ability to learn several types of copper and fiber splicing and testing equipment.
- Extensive experience in network equipment installation and turnup.
- Basic knowledge and experience with cisco commands utilized in loading configs on equipment.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment by complying with local standards and legal regulations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Must pass the preemployment screening process which includes a background check drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
- Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors in a physically demanding work environment and allweather conditions lifting or moving up to 50lbs. and hiking over various terrain.
- Possess a current and valid drivers license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Willing to travel locally statewide or regionally as required.
- Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
- 35 years Field Technician or Journeyman Apprentice experience.
Work Environment:
- This position requires visiting Alamon customer site facilities nationwide. Must be able to work in enterprise educational warehouse and manufacturing settings.
- Indoor and outdoor work will be based off the scope of the contract.
- Exposure to dust odors gasses vapors varying noise levels and wet or slick surfaces may be possible.
- Where appropriate wears personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
- This position may require working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions and terrain; may work for long periods in hot cold wet windy or icy conditions.
- Must be able to travel throughout the United States for up to 2 weeks at a time.
Physical Demands:
- Must have physical strength balance handeye coordination and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to eighty pounds and push and/or pull 50pound loads at a time.
- Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple flights of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.
- Must be able to ride in a vehicle for up to four hours to travel to and from job sites.
- Must be able to work in different temperatures and through changing weather conditions.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the Jobsite. This may include walking climbing reaching bending crawling or stretching.
- Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
- Ability to see color and shading in plans and materials.
- Ability to clearly distinguish colors shades and brightness when working with multicolored cablings such as twisted pair copper and fiber optic cable.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must use practical judgment while working through job assignments.
Travel Requirements:
- This position may require travel.
- Lodging and transportation will be provided while working and traveling for the Company.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Onthejob training offered.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Passion for accuracy.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Working at heights handling ladders and pushing/pulling equipment.
- Strong network configuration and installation background.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
