Underwriter Credit / Bond and Political risk
For our client a wellestablished Reinsurer group we are currently looking for an Underwriter to join the Credit Bond and Political Risk market (CBPR) team in the Zurich Office. You will be responsible for the analysis and underwriting of assumed risks within the global credit portfolio. You will need a strong understanding of the traditional CBPR market with particular focus in Europe.
Underlying classes of understanding include Credit and Political Risk European Surety (Commercial & Contract) and Whole Turnover Trade Credit.

Your responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of a profitable book of business. Handle daytoday transaction underwriting structuring building/maintaining client relationships reporting on portfolio to internal/external stakeholders and work effectively across internal function (accounting claims legal reserving etc..
- Enhance and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships. Communicate underwriting requirements and philosophies. Obtain supplemental underwriting information analyse and interpret coverages and negotiate final terms.
- Inform on market trends for line of business and report on assigned line of business portfolio.
- Maintain a high level of expertise and product knowledge to serve as a resource for clients and staff.
- Identify design and drive marketing synergies by developing creative solutions to client problems.
- Maximize use of companys risk and underwriting tools and analytics; enhance the risk management culture within the team.
- Investigate evaluate and make recommendations for improvements to current and new risk models changes to proprietary models and help implement new models to enable improved analyses reporting manipulation of data and workflow. Interpret and challenge model results.
- Proactively research and explore new business opportunities and client/broker relationships.
- May manage mentor train and develop junior talent.
- Maintain ongoing selfdirected professional development.
- Prioritize expense management.
EXPECTED COMPETENCIES:
- A minimum of 58 years experience in the CBPR (re)insurance with a reinsurer or reinsurance broker required.
- Extensive experience analyzing credit risk exposures.
- Ability to work with complex risk systems to support pricing and portfolio management functions.
- Excellent problemsolving skills along with superior data management skills.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of the reinsurance underwriting process including an understanding of broker/client relationships reinsurance structures and terms and conditions of credit to manage and grow relationships with brokers and clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally at all levels of the organization as well as externally with key clients brokers and vendors.
- Travel required.
