About the role
Mater Private Hospital Redland located in the Suburb of Cleveland is seeking an Orderly/Housekeeping Attendant to join the team on a casual basis. Working in a fastpaced environment you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient support services to our clinical team and patients including assisting with nontherapeutic aspects of patient care based on a consumerfocused philosophy and in accordance with hospital policy.
To be eligible for this position you will require availability across a 7day rotating roster (Day shift from 6:30am to 6:00pm and Night cleaning from 6:00pm to 02:00am)
Salary range: $31.24 $33.68 per hour plus superannuation casual loading evening shift loading weekend loading andaccess to notforprofit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!
What youll be doing
The key tasks of the Support Services Housekeeping Attendant/ Housekeeping Attendant are:
- Cleaning of patient rooms and public areas.
- Night Cleaning of the Operating Theatre CSSD Recovery areas.
- Safely transport patients on beds to Operating Theatre and Wards.
- Transport medical equipment gas cylinder blood products as required.
- Removal of soiled linen rubbish and sharps containers.
- Safely driving the patient transportation vehicles for offsite patient transfers.
- Conduct all other duties as specified in the Housekeeping Attendant/Wardsperson duties document.
- Perform infectious room cleaning and other cleaning duties as requested by supervisor.
- Actively support and participate in continuous quality improvement activities by participating in audits and trials providing suggestions and attending relevant meetings.
About you
- Availability across a 7day rotating roster. (Mandatory)
- Open Australian Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
- Previous experience in a Orderly/ Cleaning role in a healthcare hospitality or commercial cleaning environment. (Desirable)
- Awareness of the importance of hygiene in all aspects of cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and chemicals
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality customer service
