The postdoctoral researcher performs independent research in preparation for a career as a scientific professional contributing to and advancing research on combustion chemistry and soot production transport and oxidation and of the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). The postdoctoral researcher will assist in initiating the design development and implementation of a research project focused on the development of benchscale experimental capabilities for characterizing soot dynamics. Conducts experiments modeling and analysis to provide accurate data and information with the goal of developing that information into peerreviewed journal articles reports and presentations to the scientific community and other stakeholders.
This twoyear postdoctoral researcher position is focused on advancing research on the characterization of soot escape from diffusion flames and the development of strategies to represent the global soot production dynamics in computational fire models.
