This position requires an active Secret clearance.
A Small Arms Repairer is responsible for the maintenance repair and inspection of a multihundred small arms weapons inventory. They possess indepth knowledge of various firearm models and their components ensuring that all weapons are maintained in optimal working conditions and in compliance with applicable safety regulations. They may also provide training and guidance to users on proper firearm handling and safety protocols. Additionally they maintain detailed records of weapon maintenance and inventory ensuring accurate documentation and accountability. This role requires meticulous attention to detail technical expertise and a strong commitment to safety and security. As part of a mobile support team this position also requires extensive travel (up to 90 to support operations across multiple locations.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Small Arms Repairer:$3035/hour
Pay commensurate with experience.

Small Arms Repairer Responsibilities Include:
- Perform onsite and inshop diagnostics troubleshooting maintenance and repair services on small arms and infantry weapons including mechanical and electrical systems.
- Provide maintenance and repair services on weapons both in the field and in designated shop environments.
- Conduct physical maintenance on a multihundred small arms weapons inventory.
- Perform periodic inspections routine services onsite repairs (when possible) and cleaning in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards
- Manage weapons inventory control in line with agency policy and oversee physical accountability procedures.
- Collaborate with the agencys firearms program to ensure proper accountability of weapons and ammunition.
- Stay updated on training testing evaluations product demonstrations recommendations and new policies or initiatives.
- Provide formal training to agency members on operatorlevel weapons maintenance including lesson plan development and multimedia classroom delivery.
- Attend necessary training on lessthanlethal weapons and instruct unit members in their maintenance.
- Perform inventory control and maintain the serviceability of illumination devices lasers optics scopes night vision goggles etc.
- Coordinate with vendors prepare items for shipment track repair status and return items to service for factory repairs.
- Adhere to all safety rules and procedures including the proper use of personal safety equipment.
- Instruct unit members on safety rules and post signage regarding weapons and ammunition safety issues.
- Prepare and submit written reports articles updates and other materials as required.
- Provide support as directed to ensure overall unit readiness and efficiency.
- Accept and carry out ongoing or periodic collateral duties as assigned.
- Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.
Small Arms Repairer Experience Education Skills Abilities requested:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of military law enforcement or equivalent civilian gunsmith school and/or program preferred.
- Minimum of five 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Familiarity with the use of lessthanlethal weapons in inventory and the ability to oversee their serviceability and upkeep.
- Extensive travel required to support operational and programmatic needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other tracking databases.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Valid Drivers License required.
- Willingness to travel to other locations as necessary.
- Flexibility with schedule adjustments to support directives.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen.
- Must pass preemployment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
