Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire a ProgrammeAssociate (PA) to drive its work at its Centre for Energy Finance (CEEWCEF)which was launched in July 2019. The mandate of CEEWCEF is to advance theenergy transition by mobilising the vast amount of capital that will berequired. Under this broad mandate its work spans renewable energy mobilityindustrial decarbonisation instruments and regulations as well as crosscutting levers such as carbon markets and taxonomies. The Centre has aparticular focus on designing financial solutions which will unlock finance atscale. Since its launch it has published over 30 peer reviewed papers hostedover 20 in person & virtual stakeholder gatherings and created multipleproprietary tools and dashboards since its launch.
As an integral member of theCEEWCEF team the responsibilities of the PA will broadly entail:
Leveraging his/herdomain expertise in finance to contribute to the next phase of CEEWCEFsgrowth.
Work on the severalongoing research programmes.
Independentlydeveloping concepts for new research programmes.
Support for externalstakeholder engagements.
Supporting members ofthe Leadership Group and the CEO as required.
Primary Responsibilities
Research
Conceptualize new research ideas that are alignedwith programme objectives.
Supportin the development of a series of publications including policy briefs reportsas well as publish in high quality peer reviewed national and internationaljournals.
Contributetowards the various forms of analysis that CEEWCEF frequently publishes on itswebsite (CEF Explains CEF Analysis CEF Insights Tools & Dashboards).
Keepa track of the latest policy developments in India and across the world for thelatest insights in this space.
In person discussions with stakeholdersincluding travel when required to conduct primary and secondary research.
Takeownership of specific projects under the umbrella programme and ensure thatactivities and deliverables are being delivered as per the defined programmestrategy.
Proactivelymanage project deliverables resources to international quality standardswithin time and budget constraints.
Beresponsible for the financial reporting and budgeting for specific projects.
Supporteffective communication of research outputs through close coordination withoutreach team engagement with wider network of stakeholders and concernedpolicymakers.
Supportmembers of the Leadership Group and the CEO for important meetings andsessions prepare notes and conduct followups as required.
Motivate guide and mentor junior team membersto help them deliver at their best.
Presentresearch to key constituencies at policymaking level corporates advisorybodies conferences & research institutes.
Bean ambassador for the organisation in relevant conferences workshopstraining programmes; be seen as a thoughtleader in the area of energy finance.
Develop research networks locally nationallyand internationally in support of research programmes.
Selection Criteria Qualification
Preferably a Masters degreewith a specialisation in finance economics or a related field.
Atleast 4 years of relevant work experience in the field of policy researchbanking credit rating corporate finance structured finance or consulting.
Specialisationin the areas of climate energy or sustainable finance will be especiallywelcome.
Strongtrack record of project assistance and timely delivery of outputs.
Experience in dealing with public and privateinstitutions.
Building relationships with collaborators andgovernment stakeholders.
Key skills
Strongknowledge of finance including from the perspective of the nature and type ofcapital flows needed to fuel the energy transition.
Deepunderstanding of the energy transition space including the wide range ofstakeholders (policy private & other) that it covers.
Stronganalytic skills including quantitative research skills.
Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.
Interest and ability to lead teams motivate andguide younger researchers and provide them with a ground for acceleratedlearning and high performance.
CEEW operates in a dynamicenvironment and the candidate will be required to show flexibility inundertaking a variety of tasks.
