Security Guard Supervisor/Security Guard 3
Join our team as an Emergency Response Officer at our newest behavioral health treatment campus Maple Lane near Centralia WA.
Behavioral Health Treatment Center Maple Lane offers innovative treatment for residents who are civilly committed in need of competency restoration or adjudicated not guilty by reason of mental diagnosis. Each residential unit helps shape the future of behavioral health aligning with Washington States vision of communitybased care. Treating residents in smaller facilities we help them stay closer to home family and support systems fostering stronger community connections.
As a Security Guard Supervisor you will provide essential campus security for units housing adult residents with mental health diagnosis. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and security of staff residents visitors and property on the Maple Lane campus.
We are looking for a customer serviceoriented person who can quickly adapt to their environment proactively manage safety and security situations and effectively lead team members. Your crucial role will involve enforcing campus rules regulations policies and statutory law. As an experienced security leader who possesses the ability to train others in deescalation techniques and employ nonphysical interventions whenever possible this may be the career for you.
Maple Lane is a key business unit of DSHSs Behavioral Health Administration where our dedicated staff offers residents enriching opportunities and experiences outside the hospital setting preparing them for a smooth transition back into the community. This is a great opportunity to be a team member as BHA modernizes and enhances behavioral health treatment in Washington State.
Opportunities performed onsite at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5 premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you will do- Oversee and support security staff in daily operations.
- Coordinate security activities responses and shift schedules.
- Escort clients safely to medical appointments when needed.
- Conduct campus patrols on foot and by vehicle.
- Respond to emergencies and liaise with law enforcement and other agencies.
- Maintain traffic control and handle contraband or evidence securely.
- Foster communication with hospital staff through reports and evaluations.
- Counsel team members to resolve conflicts and ensure smooth operations.
- Perform administrative tasks including monthly checkins and reports.
- High school diploma or GED required; and
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following roles:
- Security guard
- Correctional officer
- Store investigator
- Police officer or reserve police officer
- Military police
- Other law enforcement positions; or
- 3 years of experience as a Security Guard 1 or 2 years of experience as a Security Guard 2.
- Completion of a basic law enforcement training program approved by the Washington Criminal Justice Training Commission
- Certification from a police academy reserve police academy or military training program
