Job Description
A healthcare organization in Brooklyn NY is seeking a Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to all federal state and local regulations internal policies and industry standards. This role involves maintaining compliance with healthcare laws including HIPAA Medicare/Medicaid requirements and the Affordable Care Act while fostering a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory excellence.
Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and enforcing compliance policies and procedures.
- Conducting audits and identifying compliance risks.
- Creating corrective action plans to address noncompliance issues.
- Designing and delivering compliance training for staff.
- Monitoring changes in healthcare laws and providing regulatory guidance.
- Investigating compliance issues and preparing reports for leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Supporting audits and inspections from internal and external bodies.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of healthcare laws including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid.
- Experience in compliance within a healthcare setting.
- Analytical skills to assess and mitigate compliance risks.
- Preferred certifications such as Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
- Strong organizational and communication skills to promote a culture of compliance and ethical practices.
