Salary range/Wage range: $40.20 $50.95 hourly Shift structure: Monday to Friday7.25 hours per day (days and evenings) Primary location:CASA House Union: Inscope Classification: Unit Lead FTE:1.00 Status:Permanent About the Role CASA House is a livein program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual group and family therapy social and life skills training and onsite schooling in small classroom settings.
The Behavioural Specialist will:
Develop and assist with implementation of individual treatment plans behavioural plans and/or safety plans for adolescents with internalizing and externalizing difficulties using a variety of treatment approaches with a heavy emphasis on effective evidencebased cognitive and behavioural principles.
Implement therapeutic models of individual group and family therapy.
Provide leadership and direction to a team of Therapy Support Assistants.
Manage the daily staff schedule including delegating task assignments caseload and assigning breaks.
Participate in program planning.
Attend and constructively participate in program and clinical team meetings and monitor the follow up/action items required of Therapy Support Assistants.
Ensure open reporting about patient safety events including near misses or concerns.
Do everything reasonable to protect the health and safety of staff and physicians.
Qualifications
Degree in social work education applied behavioural analysis.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science with a major in psychology or related field with additional Behavioural Interventionist Certificate of Achievement (BICA) and a minimum of five years of ABA experience may be considered.
Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Experience with mood concerns learning disabilities executive dysfunction and/or personality disorder traits is preferred.
Previous leadership experience is an asset.
Conditions of Employment
A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
