Job Title:Assistant Football Coach (OC or DC) / Assistant Wrestling Coach

Reports To: Athletic Director / Head Football Coach / Head Wrestling Coach / Principal

Contracted Days:190

Job Summary:The Senior High Assistant Football Coach (Offensive or Defensive Coordinator) and Assistant Wrestling Coach is responsible for fostering the development of studentathletes through expert instruction leadership and mentorship. This role includes leading either the offensive or defensive units in football and supporting all aspects of the wrestling program. The coach is expected to promote academic excellence sportsmanship and discipline while cultivating a positive and inclusive team culture.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Head Football Coach to develop and implement offensive or defensive strategies.
  • Lead football practices and assist in planning gameday operations conditioning and film review.
  • Assist with wrestling practices technique development and athlete supervision during meets and tournaments.
  • Support studentathlete academic success and character development through mentoring and communication.
  • Contribute to offseason football and wrestling training including weightlifting and conditioning.
  • Attend and participate in coaching clinics staff meetings and district professional development.
  • Assist in planning and supervising summer camps and open practice sessions for both sports.
  • Help maintain equipment facilities and uniforms in both football and wrestling programs.
  • Participate in program fundraising booster club events and community outreach initiatives.
  • Drive school vehicles for athletic travel or obtain a CDL within six months of employment.
  • Maintain student records and adhere to school and district policies.
  • Participate in faculty meetings professional development and extracurricular school activities.
  • Maintain communication with students families and school staff to foster strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on instructional planning assessments and student support strategies.
  • Support students with IEPs 504s G/T ELL and other individualized learning needs.
  • Create a positive classroom culture that supports academic achievement and student growth.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance using formal and informal methods.
  • Deliver instruction using a variety of teaching methods and media to engage diverse learners.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to support student learning and differentiation.
  • Teach districtapproved curriculum based on Arkansas standards and frameworks.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arkansas teaching license or ability to obtain one preferred.
  • Coaching experience in football and/or wrestling at the high school level or above.
  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
  • CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
