The Otis Service Center (OSC) in Bloomfield CT is seeking a Machinist for its Machine Shop operations. The Machine Shop is responsible for the manufacturing of a variety of service parts components for mechanical assemblies.
Essential Responsibilities:
Setting up and operating a variety of machines: HASS / Mori Seiki CNC Lathes CNC Mills ProTrack mill punch press and a variety of saws.
Education / Certifications:
The successful candidate must have a high School diploma or equivalent.
A certificate from a trade school is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
Must follow all EH&S and safety policies and procedures.
Must be able to adhere to assigned work schedule including start time and annual inventory.
Candidate should have knowledge and understanding of basic machining skills.
Candidate must be a team player committed to continuous improvement with the ability to work in a fast pace environment.
Ability to independently setup machines for production use.
Ability to read and interpret programs prints and setup sheets.
Must understand cutting speed and feed rates for tooling and materials.
Must be able to read and use a variety of inspection tools.
Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on machines.
Must have good interpersonal organizational verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to accommodate changes in production and work schedules in order to meet deadlines.
Must have the ability to adhere to safety standards.
A minimum of 3 4 years in the machinist trade is preferred.
Physical Demand:
Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. If an item weighs more than 50 lbs. employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane forklift or other lifting devises/
Walking balancing climbing standing twisting/turning bending/stooping crawling crouching kneeling/squatting sitting reaching above shoulder height reaching forward lifting (maximum 50 pounds) carrying pushing/pulling handling feeling digital dexterity wrist flexion/extension power grip working speed talking hearing seeing (with color vision) depth perception.
