The Opportunity


Reporting to the Manager of Regulatory Affairs Rates West within Rates & Tariffs this analyst position involves analytical work relating specifically to a pipelines costofservice revenues and volumes in the design of interstate natural gas transportation rates. Other responsibilities may include financial analysis acquisition/new project analysis financial forecasting and development and analysis of modernization programs for assigned regulated pipeline assets.

The successful candidate must be an effective problem solver able to leverage Excel skills to manipulate large sets of data and develop/update sophisticated financial/rate models. This position will work closely with Marketing Business Development Accounting and other groups to support and implement business initiatives that impact the broader organization. Valuable input and recommendations are expected of this position to contribute to strategic decisions regarding TC Energys regulated pipeline assets. In addition this position will ultimately interact with regulatory agencies and consultants.


What youll do

  • Develop and update Excel models in order to analyze volume and cost data allocate costs between various service types in order to design transmission and storage rates for various service types
  • Develop and update financial spreadsheet models as well as projects eligible for inclusion in a Modernization program
  • Provide research and analysis on financial and regulatory projects. Prepare and present summary of analyses
  • Work within an integrated team to drive and execute on pipeline rate making strategy
  • Assist in the preparation of filings to be submitted to regulatory agencies. Requires ability to conduct research and apply findings to companyspecific initiatives
  • Position will help drive strategy for a successful implementation of new Modernization programs on assigned assets while effectively managing current Modernization programs
  • Position will assist with representation of pipeline assets in rate & modernization proceedings
  • Responsibilities may include the preparation of testimony and exhibits

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business Finance Economics or another related field
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience with working knowledge of financial statements and accounting concepts
  • Strong analytical and quantitative ability particularly related to economics finance or accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex Excel models and present analyses using advanced formulae with limited oversight

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA a plus
  • Advanced experience with Excel
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills as this role interfaces with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently within the framework of a teamoriented environment
