Summary:
As the first quality engineer for GEICOs Payments Platform you will define and implement a quality strategy and architecture to enable engineers to deliver highquality software efficiently. This role involves building automation infrastructure testing frameworks test cases and developing a comprehensive strategy to ensure quality across the entire stack.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement a comprehensive shiftleft testing strategy that integrates quality practices early in the development lifecycle
Build and execute e2e automation frameworks to proactively catch defects
Implement defect leakage tracking and metrics to hold engineering teams accountable
Lead quality initiatives and establish testing standards from the ground up
Partner with engineering teams to integrate testing into their development workflow
Create and maintain testing infrastructure test suites and make tooling decisions
Prioritize critical test coverage and ensure smooth migration from legacy systems
Qualifications:
10 years of software testing experience with at least 3 years focused on payment systems or financial technologies.
Proven handson experience building an e2e automation frameworks from scratch.
Proven experience implementing shiftleft testing methodologies in largescale applications
Experience testing payment applications and integrations
Track record of leadership in establishing testing practices that reduce defect leakage
Expertise in API testing and microservices architecture testing and tools e.g. Postman or RESTAssured
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with PCI DSS compliance and security testing
Experience testing payment gateway integrations (Stripe Paypal Adyen JPM PaymentTech etc
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)
Experience with chaos engineering and resilience testing
Proficiency in GoLang testing ecosystem to get code coverage mocking services (such as stretchr
Education:
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Annual Salary
$115000.00 $230000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include but are not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role the selected candidates work experience education and training the work location as well as market and business considerations.
