Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:The DSP Behavior Technician (BT) will engage instruct and support clients through implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans collecting data on their progress and support with behavior management. This position must also fulfil the key responsibilities and competencies of a DSP.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • Onsite position MondayFriday 12pm8pm.
  • $20.50$22.50 per hour.
  • Salary based on skills and experience.
  • Fulltime/Hourly/NonExempt position.
  • Up to 6 annual bonus potential.

A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU AT HH:

  • Implement treatment procedures as outlined in the clients behavior plan as designed by the BCBA.
  • Implement a variety of preference assessments teaching strategies and behavior reduction procedures depending on client need.
  • Build relationships with clients with diverse or limited interests.
  • Participate as a member of the individuals interdisciplinary team and attend team meetings and training as required.
  • Collect data regarding clients behaviors through direct observation and communicate data professionally and efficiently to the BCBA.
  • Assist BCBAs as directed with behavior reduction assessments and behavior plans.
  • Communicate behavioral data and observations in clinical terms with team members.
  • Assist BCBAs as directed with training direct support staff.
  • Complete documentation by assigned deadlines and with accuracy per guidelines set by DHS and/or insurance.
  • Complete billing records accurately and ethically with a goal of at least 120 hours/month.
  • Assist in maintaining environmental safety with preventative measures and reactive strategies for all clients at Helping Hand.
  • Perform duties within the competency of the RBT or BSS unless directed by supervisor.
  • Report to the supervising BCBA in accordance with stated policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

LAND THIS OPPORTUNITY BY HAVING:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Preferred RBT certification or ability to become RBT certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to maintain yearly RBT recertification and abide by the RBT Ethics Code.
  • Experience working with intellectual and developmental disability population (preferred).

Skill Sets:

  • Ability to fulfill all necessary training requirements of the agency including but not limited to crisis management (which includes deescalation trategies and physical management techniques) and DSP training with 90 days of hire if applicable.
  • Valid drivers license with acceptble driving record and ongoing personal motor vehicle insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Teams Zoom etc.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.
  • A commitment to a diverse inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and flexibility to adapt to changes throughout the shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position may encounter clients exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable deescalating individually or as a team.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to assist with clients access file cabinets office machinery etc.
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Consistently position self to maintain files or assist clients.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.
  • Flexibility to work at any assigned HH site as this position will work in both our Day Program and residential CILAs.
