Job Description
As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted marketleading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives. Job Responsibilities:
- Execute creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond conventional approaches to build solutions or resolve technical problems.
- Develop secure highquality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance the overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomesoriented assessments of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for integration within existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and cuttingedge technologies.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect.
Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5 years of applied experience.
- Handson practical experience in system design application development testing and ensuring operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages including Java Spring.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD application resiliency and security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc..
- Practical experience with cloudnative applications 12factor apps).
- Experience working in a large enterprise environment.
- Strong experience in developing and maintaining microservicesbased architectures.
- Proven ability to tackle daytoday technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:
- Familiarity with observability tools and standards such as Splunk Datadog and/or Grafana.
- Experience with cloud modernization efforts and journeys.
- Experience in mentoring juniorlevel engineers and a continued interest in doing so.
- Demonstrated ability to guide project scoping and .
- Indepth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
