Job Description

Title:Summer Painter

Position Purpose:

Handles all varieties of painting related maintenance renovations and repair projects on campus. Possesses high quality painting skills efficient and works well with other members of the Paint Shop. This is a seasonal/summer role.

Job Duties:

  • Communicates well with all customers and understands their needs
  • Operates all painting related equipment
  • Performs all painting related functions
  • Completes assigned work orders and PM (preventative maintenance) orders
  • Interacts well with other painters all Facility Services personnel department heads and residents of buildings where work is being performed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • 03 years of residential and/or commercial painting experience.
  • Ability to work with various types of paints and coatings associated with the trade.
  • Pressure washer paint sprayer other equipment generally associated with the painting trade.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to logically troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in the conduct of the job.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors coworkers and outside contacts.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal situations and to respond appropriately to conflicts and problems.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends evenings oncall and other nontraditional schedules.
  • Personal commitment to excellence and the mission of a toptier small liberal arts college.
