Job Description

Summary/Objective

Perform clerical duties of a varied and diverse nature requiring knowledge of office systems and procedures. Duties may include a combination of answering telephones typing and maintaining accurate records and filing systems.

Essential Functions

  1. Respond to all internal and external customers as it relates to position in a prompt efficient friendly and patient manner.
  2. Type format proofread and edit correspondence and other documents as assigned.
  3. Answer telephones direct calls and take messages.
  4. Communicate with staff students parents and other individuals to answer questions disseminate or explain information and receive and refer complaints.
  5. Review files records and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
  6. Maintain and update filing mailing and database systems either manually or using a computer.
  7. Operate office machines such as photocopiers and scanners facsimile machines voice mail systems and personal computers in the performance of clerical duties.
  8. Open sort and route incoming mail answer correspondence and prepare outgoing mail.
  9. Arrange appointments.
  10. Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed.
  11. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies regulations and rules.
  12. Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner.

  2. Regularly required to sit type and focus on a computer screen for long periods of time

  4. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

At Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work or a minimum number of days or hours.

This is typically a 10month 40hour per week position. Employee will work ten hours per day Monday through Thursday during core business hours. Extended work hours to meet deadlines may occasionally be required.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education and Experience

General office experience within a school setting

Required Certifications/Licenses

None

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
