Job Description

Kitchen Porter

Reports to:Head Chef

Location:The Glasshouse International Centre for Music Gateshead
Working hours: Casual contract includes evening & weekend work
Salary:National Minimum wage 12.07

Are you someone whos handson happy mucking in with a team and doesnt mind things changing on the fly If thats a yes keep reading we might just be your next gig.

Our Food & Beverage team are a proper vital part of what makes people feel welcome and looked after when theyre here. As a Kitchen Porter youll be right at the heart of that keeping things clean organised and running smoothly behind the scenes so our chefs and waiting team can focus on the food and the folk.

Itd be great if youve done things like:

  • Working in a busy kitchen caf or bar
  • Cleaning and organising in a fastpaced setting

Bonus points for:

  • Knowing your way around allergens or food safety
  • Being confident with deliveries or stock rotation

What really matters:

  • Youre someone who rolls their sleeves up and gets stuck in
  • Youve got an eye for detail especially when it comes to hygiene and safety
  • Youre happy on your feet and dont mind a bit of graft

Youll be the kind of person who:

  • Keeps the kitchen sparkling from floors to fridges
  • Washes pots and pans like a pro (we mean it its a skill)
  • Knows where to stash the mop and the marigolds
  • Sorts the bins and keeps our spaces tidy and wellstocked
  • Helps with deliveries and moves stock around when needed

And just so you know this jobs about more than dishes and disinfectant. Youll be a friendly face and a vital cog in the team. A proper class act helping make sure everyone who steps into The Glasshouse has a brilliant time.
