ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an AI Business Management and Governance Lead to support AI governance and risk management activities across Markets and Securities Services. The overall purpose of this role is twofold: First to ensure that any gaps identified in our AI model risk management processes procedure and documentation regarding the obligations described in SS 1/23 (published by the PRA in Q1 2023 are closed over the course of the next 3 years and that any other AI risk management obligations (e.g. regarding other regional regulation Group policy MSS policy etc. are satisfied. Second the role holder will be expected to support business management activities related to the aforementioned (e.g. cost and benefit calculations related administration and reporting and the generation of materials for various business and risk management meetings).

The role holder will report to the Head of AI Risk Management Markets and Securities Services and will be an integral part of a worldclass team of Data Scientists AI Engineers AI and model risk managers and DevOps Engineers.

Key duties of the role holder will include:

• Supporting the Head of AI Risk Management MSS with AI model risk management / governance activities
• including the administration of key meetings and uplift of procedures and controls as required;
• Supporting the SS 1/23 model governance remediation programme of work for Markets and Securities Services;
• Generating Management Information (MI) meeting packs meeting actions/minutes and the like for various AI related meetings (e.g. MSS AI Review Committee MSS AI Management Meeting etc.;
• Providing guidance and advice to MSS stakeholders regarding requirements that must be met in order to take new AI solutions through the pipeline to production (e.g. from the proof of concept stage all the way through full production use);
• Assisting in the completion of AI and model risk management tasks and governance documentation as needed
• for MSS stakeholders (e.g. helping MSS Data Scientists Quants and others complete ServiceNow requirements as part of the AI path to production generating model documentation as required by the banks Model Risk FIM etc.;
• This role is an ideal starting point for a highly motivated Analyst or Associate with a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence and a desire to progress into either a Front Office Data Science or AI Strategy and Risk Managementtype of role.

Qualifications Skills Experience and Subject Matter Expertise

• Demonstrable experience working in a governance and/or risk management capacity involving Artificial Intelligence solutions (e.g. potentially alongside other types of models);
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements relating to AI and model risk management (e.g. SR117 SS 1/23 the EU AI Act);
• Demonstrable ability to take ownership of complex tasks and see them through from initiation to completion;
• Outstanding attention to detail;
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal);
• A keen eye for visual presentation and the effective communication of data (e.g. in the context of Management Reporting / meeting packs);
• Proven ability to work to tight timelines juggle multiple projects / deliverables and reprioritise their workload as necessary;
• Previous experience with / knowledge of AI/ML model development and risk management desirable;
• Degrees certifications or online coursework in Data Science and/or AI highly desirable;
• Handson familiarity with Python desirable but not required.
