Job Description
TSS tooling engineer
Remote
Exp: 810 years required
Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility (Polygraph preferred) required
We are looking for a Tooling Engineer (TSS) with expertise in interfaces and integrations to support classified IT environments. This role involves designing developing and managing tools that facilitate secure and seamless system interfaces across defense and intelligence platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in middleware APIs secure data exchanges and IT automation tools while ensuring compliance with federal security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement secure tooling solutions to support classified IT systems and missioncritical operations.
Develop and manage interfaces and integrations between classified systems cloud environments and enterprise applications.
Work with APIs middleware platforms and secure data exchange protocols to enable seamless interoperability.
Configure and maintain SIEM tools (Splunk ArcSight) automation frameworks and monitoring solutions.
Ensure compliance with NIST 80053 FedRAMP and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Support Zero Trust Architecture by developing accesscontrolled interfaces and tools.
Implement DevSecOps practices ensuring security integration across CI/CD pipelines.
Troubleshoot system interfaces middleware services and tooling platforms to ensure high availability and security.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including cybersecurity cloud engineers and intelligence analysts to optimize classified system performance.
Required Qualifications:
Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility (Polygraph preferred).
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science IT or a related field.
5 years of experience in tooling engineering middleware or systems integration.
Handson experience with API development microservices and secure data interfaces.
Strong expertise in middleware technologies (MuleSoft Apache Kafka TIBCO IBM WebSphere Boomi or ServiceNow integrations).
Experience with automation tools (Ansible Terraform Puppet or PowerShell DSC).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud Azure Government or onprem classified environments).
Knowledge of encryption standards (AES RSA PKI) secure networking and identity management.
Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux Windows and containerized environments (Docker Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: CISSP CCSP Security AWS Security or ITIL.
Experience with classified data handling crossdomain solutions (CDS) and insider threat mitigation.
Knowledge of AIdriven automation and cybersecurity tooling.
Prior experience working with DoD intelligence agencies or federal civilian agencies.
