About you and this role
You will be joining the W205 Elastomers Department at Dow Silicones UK Ltd Barry site the largest and most technologically advanced silicone production facility in Europe. As an Elastomers Process Operator you will be responsible for operating assigned equipment or areas of the plant ensuring safe reliable and efficient operations. You will work closely with your shift team to anticipate and resolve unplanned events and you may also provide training to less experienced operators.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and follow batch processing instructions.
- Manually load equipment with raw materials and pack final products for shipment. Clean equipment during product changeovers to ensure highquality elastomer rubber products.
- Monitor process conditions key performance metrics equipment and control systems.
- Perform scheduled operational tasks and resolve unplanned events.
- Conduct effective shift relief to ensure smooth communication and handoff.
- Mentor and train new and existing operations personnel.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing or related experience preferred.
- Experience in assembly line or factory production environment beneficial.
- 5 GCSEs at grade C and above including Maths and Science.

- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive problemsolving abilities.
- Ability to mentor and train others.
