Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is seeking a student enrolled in a Human Resources postsecondary program for a professional temporary placement opportunity. The duration of the work term is anticipated to last approximately four months approximately fromMay 5th August 29th 2025.The schedule for the position is anticipated to be onsite for FullTime hours MondayFriday from 8 AM 5 PM.

This opportunity offers valuable handson experience for a student pursuing a career in Human Resources. The position will based out of our corporate head office in Calgary AB.

What you will be doing:

• File documents into employee personnel files (excluding executives).
• Order and track flowers for bereavement and hospitalizations.
• Assist with enrolling and updating the company benefits program for nonexecutive employees.
• Send employee digital surveys (e.g. exit surveys and onemonth checkins).
• Send approved emails to notify employees of coverage changes such as dependent ageouts or beneficiary updates.
• Assist with employee life event notifications such as birthdays milestones marriages and births.
• Update and post internal company news with approved materials.
• Distribute preapproved communication materials to staff via email for benefits program RRSP etc.
• Support ongoing projects including benefit enrollment form audits and job description updates.
• Provide general administrative assistance and support as needed.
• Assist Social Committee events as needed

What you bring to the table:

• Experience: Previous customer service or administrative experience is an asset
• Education: Currently enrolled in a Business Administration or Human Resources or related degree/diploma program with at least two years of coursework completed.
• Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English; bilingual in French is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office particularly Excel is also an asset.
  • Comfortable multitasking
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment as part of the HR Team

Work Environment: This position requires a person to sit for prolonged periods of time. Manual dexterity is required to perform this position. General office environment with some exposure to laboratory environment. Compliance with established safety procedures and appropriate PPE. Repetitious work with noticeable pressure for deadlines.
