The specific areas of responsibility for the Safety Engineer:
The development of system safety program plans processes workflows and frameworks
System safety program tasks according to system safety program plans including both functional and physical hazard analysis
Conducting design evaluation engineering change and System Problem Report (SPR) safety analyses
Development and maintenance of preliminary hazard lists
Development and maintenance of preliminary hazard analyses
Development and maintenance of system hazard analyses
Development and maintenance of safety assessment reports
Development and maintenance of safety case reports
Participate in system safety working groups
Report system safety issues
Development and maintenance of system requirements and mitigating controls safety status verification and traceability
Tertiary qualifications in electronic electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
Knowledge and experience related to Safety Engineering in complex software intensive systems including:
Safety Hazard and Risk Analysis
Safety Requirements Specification
Safety related Systems Architectural Design
Safety Verification & Validation
Safety case preparation
Knowledge about contemporary safety engineering process standards principles and best practice particularly MILSTD882.
Required Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1
