The Opportunity

We invite you to join Hitachi Energy as a HighVoltage Testing Engineer where you will play an integral role within our dedicated team at the Mount Pleasant or Greensburg PA facilities. This role offers a unique chance to lead and support mechanical and highvoltage lab testing activities for our cuttingedge dead tank circuit breaker products. If you have a passion for testing setup and troubleshooting highvoltage equipment and thrive in a handson environment this is the perfect opportunity for you to drive process development and integration into fullscale manufacturing.

How Youll Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement highvoltage and mechanical testing processes for product qualification and verification.
  • Conduct routine and nonroutine tests ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal specifications.
  • Troubleshoot test setups equipment or product failures and propose root cause solutions.
  • Design or modify test setups fixtures and tooling to enhance testing accuracy and safety.
  • Maintain and interpret test data documentation and technical records.
  • Collaborate with production design engineering and quality teams for continuous improvement.
  • Train operators or junior technicians in test procedures and safety protocols.
  • Support lab readiness by maintaining equipment and developing SOPs.

Your Background

  • Associates degree in electrical mechanical or industrial technology or equivalent technical/vocational education.
  • 8 to 10 years of handson experience in mechanical and/or highvoltage electrical testing.
  • Strong understanding of test equipment electrical safety procedures and data interpretation.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings wiring diagrams and specifications.
  • Comfortable with lab tools PLCs instrumentation and physical/electrical measurement methods.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a commitment to safety quality and teamwork.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
