Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Fellow to support our work in Multilateral and Strategic Partnerships. The Fellow will contribute to donor and influence mapping across multilateral organizations including International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and UN agencies. Additionally the Fellow will help map potential multisector partnerships of interest to Save the Children.

What Youll Be Doing (Essential Duties Responsibilities and Impact):

  • Mapping Pooled Mechanisms (IFI Trust Funds):
    IFI and UN Trust Funds (TFs) are financing arrangements supported by one or more development partners. Many of these often fund research or pilot projects in countries where governments cannot access direct funding from IFIs. The Fellow will conduct a desk review to map relevant IFI and UN TFs and assess their strategic alignment with Save the Children USs work (geographically thematically etc.. This will inform potential opportunities for advocacy technical collaboration and operational partnerships.
  • Desk Review of MultiSector Partnerships:
    The Fellow will conduct a desk review on the landscape of multisector partnerships relevant to Save the Children USs work (specific issue area TBD). The goal is to produce a comprehensive report offering insights into existing models identifying best practices and providing recommendations for forming effective crosssector collaborations.

Training & Professional Development:

The Fellow will have access to our internal learning management system (LMS) Kaya which offers hundreds of training courses for personal and professional development.

Key Outcomes:

By the end of the fellowship the Fellow will have:

  1. Comprehensive Mapping Report:
    A detailed desk review mapping relevant TFs and multisector partnerships including a strategic analysis of which funds and partnerships align with Save the Children USs goals across the developmenthumanitarian nexus.
  2. Recommendations for Strategic Engagement:
    A set of actionable recommendations on which TFs and multisector partnerships offer the best opportunities for advocacy technical collaboration and operational partnership.
  3. Increased Knowledge in MultiSector Partnerships:
    A deeper understanding of the landscape of multisector collaborations including best practices and challenges with insights into how different sectors can collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals.
  4. Enhanced Research and Analytical Skills:
    Strengthened abilities in conducting highlevel research synthesizing complex information and presenting findings in a clear actionable manner.
  5. Professional Development:
    Exposure to the workings of international development humanitarian response partnerships and donor relations while gaining valuable experience in strategic mapping and report writing.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research; ability to synthesize and analyze research findings
  • Ability to think critically and consider creative solutions evaluate multiple approaches and select the most effective strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate ideas and complex ideas clearly report findings and address stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers; capacity to work well with others to complete assigned tasks
  • Proficiency in balancing multiple tasks meeting deadlines and managing time effectively and ensuring responsibilities are met
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately and with discretion

Compensation: $20 / hour

Hours: 40 hours per week
