Creature is an integrated designbuild firm based in Birmingham AL. Our focus is on developing a differentiated delivery platform that improves the lives of our employees and customers. We are focused on the delivery of facilities utilizing the Design Manufacture Construct (DMC) methodology. DMC replaces the centuryold siloed approach of the Architecture Engineering and Construction Industry. A major component of our platform is our inhouse Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing trades.
As an intern you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful to our projects success. Our team is motivated to support our interns growth into wellrounded leaders. The interns work in a collaborative team environment under the leadership of the Project Managers and perform duties like an Assistant Project Manager while changing the landscape of the construction industry through thoughtful design and innovative building practices.
Job Description:
The responsibilities and job skills learned are primarily dependent upon the individual interns drive determination and ability to learn and function on a multidisciplinary project team. A typical day can range from assisting with generating an estimate coordinating scheduled activities at the project site and/or helping to come up with engineering solutions. A successful intern will learn how to estimate projects and scopes of work work directly with vendors to purchase material and equipment and support the field team and customer needs through scheduling and site logistics management. Experienced successful interns will have the opportunity to run jobs from inception through construction and final job closeout under the guidance of their Project Manager.

Candidates must be able to complete at least 12 weeks of fulltime work. Students must be enrolled in an internship program at an accredited university majoring in Mechanical Electrical Industrial Engineering MET or Construction Management/Building Science. Candidates understand that they may be at the office in Birmingham Alabama or be placed at a project anywhere in the Southeastern US.
