Reporting to the Health Services Manager the Psychologist is a member of the interdisciplinary team. The incumbent will collaborate with other members of the team while providing assessment diagnosis consultation and psychotherapy. The ability to conduct both individual and group treatment is an asset.
The Clinical Psychologist will primarily provide psychological services to patients within the Psychiatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit but will also provide consultation assessment and treatment as needed to the Forensic Assessment Correctional Treatment Unit Transition Bungalow Program and Community Program. Duties will include conducting comprehensive assessment of violence risk personality and cognitive skills in addition to other psychological assessments (e.g. neuropsychological screening) provision of treatment through both individual and group settings. Duties will also include participation in the predoctoral internship program and supervision of practicum students. Participation and testimony before the Criminal Code Review Board of Nova Scotia and expert witness testimony will also be required.
