RPO Recruitment is actively seeking experienced Screed Operators to join our clients team based in Pietermaritzburg. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals with a background in construction projects to contribute their expertise to a dynamic and growing team. If you have handson experience operating screed machines and a keen eye for precision and quality we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Operate screed machinery to lay and level asphalt or concrete surfaces according to specifications
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and finish quality
- Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment to prevent breakdowns
- Ensure surfaces are prepared appropriately prior to screeding
- Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to meet project timelines
- Adhere to safety protocols and site regulations at all times
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and equipment usage
Requirements:
- High school certificate or equivalent
- Proven experience operating screed machines in a construction environment
- Familiarity with road surfacing and paving techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of screed equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor environments
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards
