JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant: Full Time Day Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Schedules patients for pain procedures and manages schedule to fill gaps.
- Demonstrates exemplary customer service at all points of care.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize provider scheduling is required for this position.
- Assists with patient telephone calls such as referrals injection/infusion line nursing voicemails etc.
- Triage and return calls to patients regarding upcoming procedures and/or appointments.
- Rooms patients including obtaining vital signs chief complaints an accurate mediation list and any other criteria defined by provider.
- Documents care given to patients utilizing the electronic medical record.
- Communicates unusual or emergent situation to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
- Actively protects patient and self by following OSHA and other standards reviewed in annual training.
- Assists physicians with diagnostic procedures; tests and treatments.
- As required complete annual KDHE radiology credits to maintain ability to assist in the pain center procedure room when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) diploma radiology certification preferred.
- Oneyear RMA experience in an acute care facility or with acute care patients.
