Job Description

The GIS Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the development of community solar projects by providing geospatial analysis and datadriven insights. This position will work closely with internal teams to identify optimal project sites assess environmental constraints and develop maps and reports that support project permitting stakeholder outreach and decisionmaking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain GIS data ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Support site selection for community solar projects by analyzing land suitability factors including parcel data proximity to electrical infrastructure zoning regulations and environmental constraints.
  • Create productionquality maps spatial analyses and visualizations to support project development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Perform tabular data analysis including querying and data visualization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including project developers engineers and permitting specialists to define project site criteria and optimize community solar project siting.
  • Automate workflows using Python (ArcPy Pandas psycopg) and other GIS scripting tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the creation of outreach materials and presentations for community engagement efforts.
  • Troubleshoot GIS software and technologyrelated issues as needed.
  • Research emerging GIS tools and technologies to continuously improve workflows and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in GIS Geography Environmental Science Urban Planning or a related field.
  • 25 years of professional experience in GIS analysis preferably within the renewable energy or environmental sectors.
  • Proficiency in ESRI software including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience with geodatabase administration and spatial data management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate spatial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Python (ArcPy Pandas) SQL or other geospatial programming tools is a plus.
  • Experience with Tableau Power BI or similar data processing and visualization tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with drone imagery processing and PV design software (PVsyst PlantPredict) is a plus.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $70000 $80000 encompassing base pay and potential incentive target opportunity. This range is a good faith estimate based on the positions requirements. Specific compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary depending on factors such as relevant knowledge skills training experience and market conditions.
