Job Description

Everett High School Title III EL Summer Programming Teachers


POSITION SUMMARY:


Everett High School is seeking enthusiastic and qualified educators to teach an inperson summer enrichment program for English Learner (EL) students. The program aims to provide academic support to address learning loss with a realworld communitybuilding approach. Students will receive instruction in crosscurricular learning fostering both academic development and socialemotional growth. Teachers will adapt their curriculum to meet the needs of diverse language groups and integrate strategies to support language acquisition and content mastery.

Working Times/Dates/Modality:

  • Dates: July 7th July 31st 2025
  • Schedule: Monday Thursday 8:00 AM 1:00 PM
  • Required training dates: June 17 and June 18th 8 AM3:00 PM
  • Total Hours: 94 hours

REMUNERATION:

  • $40/hour for 84 hours total stipend up to a total maximum stipend of $3760.

  • 1 Math Teacher
  • 1 ESL Teacher
  • 2 Sheltered Teacher

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate regularly with the Site Supervisor regarding student progress attendance and family concerns.
  • Attend June training dates and implement strategies during the summer instruction
  • Plan and facilitate engaging crosscurricular lessons that align with Massachusetts State Standards for Math ELA History or ESL.
  • Implement specific literacybased strategies identified for summer school and participate in coaching opportunities to strengthen the implementation of the strategies.
  • Incorporate language activities into daily lessons that align with WIDA Language Proficiency Standards into content instruction including speaking listening reading and Writing.
  • Use all available technology and virtual curricula specifically the course HQIM provided by the district to create engaging lessons and supports linked with 21st Century skills.
  • Modify curriculum to support students linguistic needs incorporating vocabulary strategies sentence frames and textdependent questions.
  • Plan and facilitate structured activities and lessons that promote students socialemotional development.
  • Manage classroom behavior with Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies that motivate students and limit disruptions.
  • Incorporate Social Emotional Learning standards and curriculum that promote selfconfidence teambuilding and informed decisionmaking.
  • Chaperone field trips providing students with realworld learning experiences.
  • Support students in addressing learning gaps through a rigorous curriculum and supplemental platforms.
  • Communicate with families regularly using culturally responsive strategies that promote twoway conversations
  • Contribute to schoolwide Summer School initiatives and events which may be assigned by the Principal Assistant Principal and/or Site Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field
  • Massachusetts Teaching Licensure in ESL ELA Math or related subject area for grades 612
  • Enthusiasm for working with English Learners
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensure in ESL ELA Math or related subjects
  • 3 or more years of teaching experience with a focus on English Learners
  • Experience working with diverse language groups and modifying instruction to meet student needs
  • Ability to use technology to enhance instruction and support student engagement
  • Experience with socialemotional learning and/or supporting language acquisition
