The Thielen Student Health Center at Iowa State University is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform a broad range of clinical laboratory tests that assist in the diagnosis prevention and treatment of diseases. This fulltime position offers a set weekday schedule (Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM 5:00 PM) so you can enjoy weekends holidays NO oncall. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of complex and routine diagnostic laboratory tests with a high level of accuracy and precision.
- Analyze validate and interpret test results; communicate critical findings to providers in a timely manner.
- Operate calibrate maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Collect prepare and analyze specimens including blood urine and other body fluids.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clinicians to support appropriate test selection and specimen collection techniques.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of lab protocols and procedures.
- Monitor inventory and manage supply orders to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students and entrylevel staff.
