Job Description

Prevailance is seeking an experienced missionfocused professional to support the Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command (SWESC) as a Diesel Engineman Contractor Instructor (EN CI). The EN CI will provide instruction operation testing remediation curriculum support (including updates and maintenance) administration safety and management support services for formalized naval training.

Responsibilities:The EN CI will be responsible for delivering technical and military training including instructor services and remediation for Department of Defense (DOD) personnel. This includes Navy and Allied Forces officers and enlisted personnel temporarily assigned to SWESC Great Lakes IL for training. The role emphasizes ensuring effective training delivery and supporting the professional development of students.


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Clearance:

  • Must be able to obtain a favorable background


The EN CI shall have the following qualifications:

  • Must be a former Senior (E5E9 Engineman or Machinist Mate Diesel with a background in main propulsion
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols operation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of the systems listed below is essential
  • Must be a graduate of at least one of the following courses:
    • LSD 41/49 ColtPielstick Maintainer (A6520323
    • Diesel Engine C School Module 5 (LPD C/P) (A6519001
    • USCG ALCO 251C (A6513030
    • USCG FBM (A6513031
    • Fairbanks Morse Diesel 38ND 81/8 (A6520450

Instructor Experience:

  • Minimum of three 3 years of technical experience in the subject matter being instructed
  • Minimum of two 2 years in a Military Training Environment (these can overlap)

Certification:

  • Certified as an instructor in the applicable functional area (e.g. NETC requirements)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of learning principles presentation methods testing and remediation procedures curriculum development training aids devices electronic podiums technical training equipment (TTE) lab equipment and associated operation and maintenance procedures
